Le Haut Courtigne is situated only 3 Km from the village of Parcay les Pins where you will find after either a very short drive, slightly longer cycle ride or a gentle 30 min walk an excellent Boulangerie and General Store and Brasserie.

Parcay les Pins is the birth place of sculptor Jules Debois, a friend of Rodin and now boasts a excellent museum which has a variety of visiting art exhibitions through out the year. Le Haut Courtigne is ideally situated for those who want to totally relax and enjoy a peaceful holiday.

For those who want to get out and about it is ideal for cycling, walking, fishing or even golf there being three of the best golf courses only 35 minutes away.

The town of Saumur with its golden tuffeau buildings over looks one of the most magnificent parts of the Loire River. The Elegant tall houses some times form narrow streets which can lead you to excellent restaurants and bars and the opportunity to sit outside sampling the local food, wine and watch the world go by. On Saturday a number of these streets lead you to a part of the town's busy market in St Pierre Square where, during the summer months, you can sit outside and listen to live music.

This area is also ideally situated for a variety of excursions. Visit the magnificent Chateaux of the Loire, built as summer residences for the French nobility. There are three excellent zoos near by, and Futura scope is within easy reach. The medieval cities of Tours and Angers are within an hour by car and provide a more cosmopolitan atmosphere, with a variety of excellent shops and out door restaurants' 8 Km from Parcay les Pins are numerous fishing lakes and at Rille or Hommes you can swim, fish, sail, and even wind surf.

Finally we must not forget one of the most enjoyable reasons for coming to this part of France. The FOOD! the CHEESE! the WINE! There are numerous excellent restaurants close to us, as are some of the most varied vineyards where you can both taste and enjoy the history of wine making whether you like Blanc, Rose or Rouge, be it still or sparkling!
